Our client is seeking a Chief of Staff to provide highlevel support across both personal and philanthropic initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for an organized, proactive, and discreet professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment. The Chief of Staff will own day-to-day operations across household management, travel coordination, foundation oversight, and special projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

Household & Personal Support

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the principal and their spouse, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and discreetly.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage household staff and service providers (e.g., chefs, drivers, nannies, housekeepers).
  • Oversee household operations, vendor performance, and logistics. 
  • Manage all aspects of personal travel: research, bookings, itineraries, and visa coordination.
  • Plan and execute monthly events. 

Philanthropic & Foundation Operations

  • Act as the operational lead for a private foundation. 
  • Track grant pipelines and support grantee relationships.
  • Coordinate with researchers, academic institutions, and cultural organizations.
  • Prepare board materials and oversee key initiatives. 
  • Maintain high-level oversight of P&L and general operational budgets.

Strategic & Administrative

  • Prepare briefing materials for meetings; ensure the principal is fully informed.
  • Attend weekly in-person strategy meetings with the principal in NYC.
  • Represent the principal in select meetings and relay key takeaways.
  • Hire and manage business support contractors as needed.
  • Independently lead and execute special projects from concept through completion.
  • Domestic travel is required approximately once per month, including regular trips to Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

  • Must be based in New York City 
  • 7+ years in a senior-level chief of staff, operations, or executive support role within a high-touch, fast-moving environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly discreet, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure.
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically. 
  • Fluency or proficiency in German is a strong plus 

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year with full benefits package
