Newborn Nanny/Family Assistant – St. Michael, Minnesota
Our client is seeking a warm and dependable Nanny/Family Assistant for their household in St. Michael, Minnesota. The family is expecting their first child in October and would ideally like someone to begin before the baby arrives. This will allow the candidate to become familiar with the household, assist with preparations, and build a strong relationship with the parents.
The family is seeking a supportive professional who can assist with the baby as needed while also helping with meal preparation, errands, organization, and the smooth operation of the household. As the baby grows, the position will gradually transition to include more independent childcare.
Responsibilities
- Assist with newborn care, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and maintaining routines
- Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care as the baby grows
- Prepare healthy meals and assist with light meal planning
- Complete errands, grocery shopping, and other household-related tasks
- Assist with light household upkeep, organization, and baby-related laundry
- Help prepare and organize the family’s new home before the baby arrives
- Maintain and organize baby supplies, clothing, and nursery items
- Transition between childcare and family-assistant responsibilities based on the principals’ needs
- Travel with the family to Florida for at least two months each year
- Provide flexible support as the family’s needs evolve
Qualifications
- Prior professional childcare experience; infant or newborn experience is strongly preferred
- Warm, nurturing, responsible, and emotionally mature
- Proactive, flexible, and willing to assist wherever needed
- Comfortable traveling to Florida for an extended period
- Able to work one overnight per week initially
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting; a family vehicle will be provided for work-related tasks
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willing to undergo a background check and provide professional references
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, plus one overnight per week initially
Compensation: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience, plus a housing stipend
Start Date: Flexible; ideally September or October
