Governess- Denver, CO (Open to Relocation and Live-in)
Our client, a private family with residences in Denver, Colorado, and Southampton, New York, is seeking an educated, polished, and highly experienced Governess to support the academic and personal development of 5-year-old twin girls. This role is ideal for a career educator, particularly with Norland training or equivalent early years pedagogy, who brings a structured, curriculum-driven approach and takes pride in fostering intellectual curiosity, confidence, and strong foundational skills.
The Governess will serve as an educational guide and role model, supporting both academic excellence and age-appropriate independence within a well-run household. Live-in or live-out arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a structured learning program covering early literacy, mathematics, science, and global culture.
- Encourage a love of reading, storytelling, creative expression, and intellectual curiosity.
- Support homework, school readiness, and enrichment aligned with best practices in early years education.
Guide the girls through their morning and after-school routines with an emphasis on responsibility and organization.
- Provide safe, reliable transportation to and from school and activities (family vehicle provided).
Maintain a calm, consistent, and enriching environment.
- Support social development, manners, and age-appropriate etiquette.
Prepare healthy, child-focused meals.
- Travel with the family as needed, ensuring continuity in routines and education.
Assist with child-related errands, scheduling, and organizational tasks.
Act as a trusted point person for the girls’ day-to-day needs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a Governess, teaching, or private educational role with multiple children
- Norland-educated candidates strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus; degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, English, is strongly preferred
- Excellent spoken and written English, with strong attention to grammar and communication
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Professional, composed demeanor with excellent judgment
- Outstanding, verifiable references
Schedule: Willingness to work approximately 40-50 hours per week, with flexibility as needed.
